Rady Children’s Physician Management Services (RCPMS) offers exciting opportunities for qualified candidates to join our rapidly growing organization. We are a wholly owned subsidiary of Rady Children’s Hospital and Health Center with just over 500 employees. RCPMS supports primary care pediatricians with 32 office locations throughout San Diego and Southern Riverside Counties.

RCPMS seeks friendly, motivated, experienced individuals for our open Senior Health Educator position.

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the W.E.L.L. Clinic Senior Health Educator works collaboratively with Site Leadership, Operations Manager and the W.E.L.L. Clinic Physician Director to ensure smooth operations of the regional W.E.L.L. clinics, Walk with a Doc, and Cooking Matters. The Senior Health Educator acts as a content expert and a mentor for other W.E.L.L. Clinic health coaches.

Responsibilities

  • Develop personalized actionable goals and strategies for patient/families to support healthful nutrition and physical activity.
  • Conduct health-related wellness seminars for RCPMS clinical staff and work with front-office staff to ensure scheduling follows pre-determined curriculum
  • Work with RCPMS staff to ensure scheduling of W.E.L.L. clinic visits follow the pre-developed curriculum, coordinate specialty care appointments and ensure patients and their families are linked with the appropriate community resources to support their nutrition and physical activity goals.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Health Education and Health Coaching Certification from one of the two recognized certifying bodies. And 1 year of experience as a Health Coach or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Health Coach Certification (Must have at least one)
    • Certified Health Coach by the American Council on Exercise
    • National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach by the International Consortium of Health and Wellness Coaching
  • Valid California driver’s license and vehicle insurance
  • Ability to maintain composure when confronted with fast-paced and stressful situations.
  • Pleasant attitude, a professional appearance and a willingness to assign high priority to patient comfort and satisfaction.
  • You must demonstrate accuracy, timeliness, attention to detail and must strive for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Bilingual preferred.

The reasonably expected starting hourly wage range for this position is $28.00-$32.00 depending on qualifications including education and relevant experience.
