Rady Children’s Physician Management Services (RCPMS) offers exciting opportunities for qualified candidates to join our rapidly growing organization. RCPMS supports primary care pediatricians with 32 office locations throughout San Diego and Southern Riverside Counties.

RCPMS seeks a friendly, motivated, experienced individual for our open PFS Trainer position at our Corporate Office in the Kearny Mesa area.

Under the general supervision of the Training Manager and working in collaboration with PFS leadership, this person is responsible for developing, maintaining, and conducting PFS training for all billing and collections functions and administrative front office training for RCPMS. The scope of training responsibilities includes, but is not limited to, PFS related application training, Registration related functions, Service Excellence, Communication in Healthcare and professional development. This person will be responsible for initial proficiency training of PFS staff, provide upgrade training and resources as well as other training needs as identified by leadership/staff. Corporate Affiliates who require billing and collections training will also be supported by this position.


  • Develop new training courses/programs as necessary including training content, presentation, handouts, and assessment testing as necessary.
  • Provide billing and collections training to newly hired and established RCPMS staff including follow up post training.
  • Provide training and onsite support for new affiliate offices and Community Connect projects as needed.
  • Train on interpersonal skills including customer service, communications, and critical thinking.
  • Assists in handling problems, assessing workflows, and troubleshooting as well as updating training to reflect current workflows.
  • Reinforces classroom training through on site individual and group follow up.
  • Develops and cultivates professional behaviors and expectations through course offerings and by example.
  • Integrate Service Excellence ideals into all training programs.


  • High School degree or equivalent, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Preferred 2 years of experience in training, teaching, or coaching.
  • Minimum 1 year healthcare billing experience with understanding of entire revenue cycle as well as experience on one of the major medical software applications (i.e., EPIC, Meditech, IDX, etc.) desired.
  • Valid California driver’s license and insurance
